Year 2 Art lesson: making newspaper animal models

This is a very simple art/science topic exploration lesson using just newspaper and tape, to encourage children to explore and share their knowledge about animals, work together and develop their modelling skills. During the lesson, there was lots of discussion about the differences between animals, where they lived, what they ate, why they looked like they did.

The attached document gives an outline plan for the lesson, and includes discussion between the teacher and artist afterwards, capturing how the children engaged and capturing those moments of creative exploration, problem solving, collaboration.
