Using Soundscape & Songwriting to explore Vikings topic

The Vikings has been a topic that has lent itself to a lot of creative output in the Confident Creators programme – making models of vikings, using drama to explore viking stories and exploring what the viking society was like, making songs about facts they have learnt. In this lesson, the children had already written some poetry about their topic, so here the teacher experimented turning the poems into songs. They were able to look at their individual pieces and contribute lines and ideas to a class song.
