Year 5 Music – Islamic Empire
The attached document gives the lesson plan and some detail on the creativity and learning for pupils from it, when a Year 5 class started their Islamic Empire topic using Music. Singing gave children a vehicle to share their knowledge with each other and supporting them committing that knowledge to memory. This class were enthusiastic singers and there was a wonderful moment when the teacher started to use call and response to give instructions to children, which continued throughout – turning the lesson into a mini-opera!
